| > The Concept
of Storm was to produce a robot that embodied the best of
everything. When it was designed the team sat down and worked
out what we wanted from a robot - and tried to turn those ideas into
one single design. What we produced was a stunningly complex machine for a first attempt at a robot. Storm could run inverted, pick another robot up and carry them around long before the likes of Big Nipper were around. Storm could even lift a robot out of the pit to carry on a fight. Its crushing beak-like claw could crush through the thickest armour around at the time. But Storm's weakness was to incorporate all this sophistication, it had to sacrifice armour |

| > The best
thing that came out of the project of building Storm was a
detailed diary that the team produced of their efforts building the
robot and then keeping it going. The diary which runs from
15th December 2000 all the way through to the end of 2002 which is
when Storm II was commissioned and running.
Read 'The Diary' here. A detailed story telling the tale of Storm I from concept design to running robot.
