2001 Event Reports

See where it all started for Team Storm, a long drive up the M6 to the Catch Corner pub in Stafford on a cold February night after a group of roboteers decided to get together for a night out.

See how it all began, the first event that Team Storm attended with a working (sort of) robot.  Back in those days we were pleased to have something that moved !  We'd had 8 weeks from the MFL (Midlands Fighting League) meet at the end of Feburary to the Debenham Robot Rumble to put something together.

A few weeks on from the Debenham Robot Rumble and we'd been slowly improving the robot and dealing with the issues trying desperatley to learn how to do this robot lark.

A chance for Team Storm to attend the filming of Robot Wars Extreme at Earls Court was too good a chance to miss so to get some much needed experience of what Robot Wars was really like, Ed set off to London.

The GGHW was the first time that Storm I as people are used to seeing it appeared having stopped using our prototype robot chassis.

The DRG event in Zwolle was a fantastic success and everyone had a great time heading over to Holland on a coach full of roboteers.  We were getting to grips with what Storm could do, and surprised everyone when we turned up with a different weapons system, an electric lifter.

2002 Event Reports

In early 2002 we attended a Brighton Model world event and we were really starting to get Storm I running well now with it's hydraulics.

• Brighton Model World - 15/02/02 - 17/02/02

The Inspire event was the first time anyone had seen our featherweight crusher Force X, we'd brought an MDF mockup of the robot to show people what it could do - and the general view was people seemed amused with our new creation.

The 2002 GGHW was the last event that Storm ran at, the teams attention was now firmly directed at our new machine that would go on to become a World Champion..... Storm II
